Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ty Huggins!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huggins is looking to clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Huggins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Huggins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Huggins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Huggins walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Huggins is trying to trip Diaz. He has hold of a leg but Diaz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Huggins persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Huggins is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Diaz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Huggins's back instead.
Diaz is throwing shots to the body but Huggins manages to wriggle free. Diaz pounces on him again and ends up in Huggins's guard.

Ty Huggins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Well Huggins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
