PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Algenir Mira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Dole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dole is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Tear Away by Drowning Pool. Bob Dole told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dole misses with the combination.
Dole throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dole slaps away a takedown attempt from Mira, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dole throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dole tries to avoid it but Mira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dole to the ground. Dole escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dole moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Algenir Mira has been cut.
Dole will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dole swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Dole.
Dole throws a right and a left that Mira avoids nicely.

Dole misses with the combination.

Mira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dole defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Algenir Mira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dole throws a nice looking combination but Mira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mira tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dole sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mira somewhat.

Dole tries to bum rush Mira with a series of wild strikes but Mira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bob Dole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dole defends it nicely.

Mira is breathing heavily.

Dole lands a left and a right that send Mira crashing to the mat, dazed. Dole thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Dole throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mira misses with a takedown attempt - Dole sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dole scores with a jab. Mira acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Oh Mira is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dole drops Mira with a straight right hand, right on the button! Dole follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
