The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bear closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. mir did well to prevent Bear getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

mir is defending against the submission attempts here by Bear .
mir is trying to control but can't.
mir is refusing to be controlled, as Bear sits in half guard.
mir wants to control but Bear is keeping busy.

mir blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bear .

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bear misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. mir tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. mir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

mir gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bear to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bear gets the takedown into side control.
mir sneaks back into half guard.
mir is controlling Bear 's trapped leg to prevent Bear from advancing to side control.
Bear is trying to control. mir wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

mir tries to bum rush Bear with a series of wild strikes but Bear uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bear shoots for a double leg takedown but mir sprawls well. He's pushed Bear 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
mir shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bear counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for mir!
mir tries to lock up and control but Bear gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bear is stalling here but it's allowed mir to get half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

mir manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

mir has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bear doesn't defend quickly enough and mir has managed to lock this one up! Can Bear escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to mir on a fantastic submission victory.
