PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junk Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Enlightener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junk Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dante Enlightener!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dog takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Junk Dog has been cut.

Enlightener is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dog's half guard.
Enlightener trying to control from half guard but Dog is working away.
Dog wants to get back to his feet.

and Enlightener counters with a nice uppercut.
Dog works Enlightener's body with a nice hook.

Enlightener shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dog is trying to defend but Enlightener finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dog on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dog tries to get out of the position.

Enlightener wants to take a breather but Dog is having none of it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Enlightener cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dog really wants to buck Enlightener off and get back to his feet.

Enlightener blocks Dog's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Dog wants to try and get back to his feet.

Dog bucks Enlightener off and manages to get back to his feet!

Enlightener shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dog manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dog is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Enlightener dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dog wants to get back to his feet but Enlightener drags him back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Enlightener is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dog.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Enlightener, as that shot connected.
Enlightener rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dog looks to land a left hand but Enlightener moved out of range nicely.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dog scores with a one two! Enlightener had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Enlightener throws a right and a left that Dog avoids nicely.

and Enlightener counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dog is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Enlightener is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Enlightener's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dog throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Dog wants to stand but Enlightener is controlling the position.

Enlightener stands up and waves to Dog to follow him.
Dog looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dog throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Enlightener to counter with a crisp jab.
Dog throws a nice looking combination but Enlightener bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dog misses with a straight right.
Dog throws a right hand that Enlightener ducks under and follows up with a left that Enlightener also avoids with ease.

Enlightener's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Enlightener duly obliges.

Enlightener feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dante Enlightener showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Enlightener works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Enlightener lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Dog scores with a nice head shot.
Enlightener might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Enlightener throws a hook to the side of Dog's head but Dog sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Dog throws a shot from downtown. Enlightener moves away and avoids it.
Enlightener lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dog circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dog moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Dog wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Enlightener manages to pass to side control.

Enlightener shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Enlightener showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Enlightener is taking a breather. Dog says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Enlightener looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dog with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Enlightener is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dog flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Enlightener frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dante Enlightener comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Enlightener winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
