The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gagoyan rushes Leites and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gagoyan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Leites fails to land with a series of punches.
Gagoyan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Leites throws out the jab.
Leites throws a head kick that misses.

Gagoyan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Leites can't do much from the bottom here.

Gagoyan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Gagoyan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leites. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Leites is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gagoyan's half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Astavilies Leites will probably get the nod.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gagoyan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gagoyan gets caught flat footed, as Leites shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Leites trying to control but Gagoyan is working from the bottom.
Gagoyan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Leites manages to get himself to full guard.

Gagoyan throws and elbow that misses. Leites uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gagoyan's guard. Nice move by Leites!

Gagoyan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Leites changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gagoyan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leites is looking to take a break and control but Gagoyan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Leites tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leites has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Both fighters circling a little - Gagoyan finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Good leg kick by Leites there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gevo Gagoyan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Gagoyan. Leites shrugs it off though.
Gagoyan misses with a hook. Leites ducked under it nicely.
Gagoyan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Leites counters with a series of strikes. Gagoyan will be more careful next time no doubt.
