PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jammin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jammin comes into the arena with Dance Monkey blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Jammin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Marsh!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jammin.

Marsh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jammin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marsh is aware though and is defending well.
Marsh trying to control but Jammin is working from the bottom.
Jammin wants to sweep but no luck.
Marsh controlling from the top position.

Jammin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Marsh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jammin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Marsh drops back looking for a leg! Jammin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jammin manages to kick Marsh off! Marsh jumps back into Jammin's guard.
Jammin is looking to stand up but Marsh isn't so interested in that idea.
Jammin keeping moving, preventing Marsh from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jammin gets the takedown into side control.
Marsh manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jammin's best efforts.
Jammin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marsh manages to get to full guard.

Jammin is posturing up here but Marsh has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Jammin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Jammin has to tap! Slick submission there by Marsh!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kris Marsh!
