The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piper scores with a takedown into Berto's guard.
Piper wants to control from the top but Berto keeps moving.
Piper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Berto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Piper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Berto is adopting a defensive guard.
Berto wants to stand up but Piper is controlling him.
Berto is trying to control the position but Piper postures up.

Berto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Piper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Piper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Piper is fighting to break Berto's control of his arms but Berto is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Piper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Berto is looking to improve his position.

Piper is working for a kimura but Berto is defending it quite comfortably.
Berto is looking to control Piper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Berto avoid being mounted?

Piper is looking for a kimura but Berto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Piper to get the leverage.
Berto is looking for a sweep. Piper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Piper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Berto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
