Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximillion Dirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guus Meeuwis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dirk comes to the cage accompanied by Mack the Knife. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirk tries to clinch but Meeuwis is having none of it.
Meeuwis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Meeuwis shoots for a double leg takedown but Dirk sprawls well. He's pushed Meeuwis 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Good work by Meeuwis as he checks the leg kick.
Dirk throws a hook but Meeuwis blocks it.

Meeuwis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dirk defends it nicely.

Guus Meeuwis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dirk throws a lazy right hand but Meeuwis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Meeuwis moves forwards but Dirk connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dirk is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meeuwis .

The crowd cheers as Dirk lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meeuwis doesn't seem phased though.

Dirk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meeuwis circles away quickly and effectively.
Meeuwis takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Dirk fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Meeuwis is out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meeuwis is defended easily by Dirk.

Meeuwis shoots in but no luck this time.
Meeuwis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Meeuwis is trying desperately to land a takedown but Dirk is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Meeuwis .
Dirk tries to clinch but Meeuwis moves out of range.
Meeuwis shoots in and drives through. Dirk sprawls well.

Dirk throws a shot to the body.
Meeuwis closes the distance and clinches up with Dirk, looking for a takedown. Meeuwis pushes Dirk against the cage but Dirk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Meeuwis has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dirk's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dirk duly obliges.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Meeuwis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dirk tries to avoid it but Meeuwis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dirk to the ground. Dirk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dirk throws a hook to the side of Meeuwis 's head but Meeuwis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dirk throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dirk wants to clinch up but Meeuwis keeps it at a distance.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A punch lands to the side of Meeuwis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Meeuwis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dirk defends it nicely.
Meeuwis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Maximillion Dirk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dirk throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Dirk uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Meeuwis has time to react.

Meeuwis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dirk sprawls well initially but Meeuwis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Meeuwis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dirk keeps working.
Meeuwis is just content to waste time from the top position. Dirk takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dirk manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dirk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Meeuwis passes to full mount!

Meeuwis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dirk is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dirk and Meeuwis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Meeuwis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meeuwis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Meeuwis tries for a kimura but Dirk is defending well.
Meeuwis throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dirk works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dirk wants to improve his position but Meeuwis is controlling well.
Dirk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dirk tries to get out of the position.
Dirk wants to control but Meeuwis is keeping busy.
Dirk is staying active underneath Meeuwis , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dirk slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Meeuwis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dirk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dirk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dirk!

Dirk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dirk tries to bum rush Meeuwis with a series of wild strikes but Meeuwis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Meeuwis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dirk pinned against the cage. Dirk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dirk digs a right hand into Meeuwis 's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Meeuwis 's gas tank.
Meeuwis jumps guard but Dirk stands there with Meeuwis around his waist. Meeuwis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Meeuwis takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Dirk walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Meeuwis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Meeuwis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dirk's waist but Dirk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meeuwis off to one side.
Meeuwis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Dirk is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meeuwis .

Meeuwis closes the distance and clinches up with Dirk, looking for a takedown. Meeuwis pushes Dirk against the cage but Dirk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Meeuwis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dirk keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dirk stalks Meeuwis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meeuwis 's face. Meeuwis staggers backwards, shaken.
Meeuwis is still on wobbly legs! Can Dirk finish him?

Well Dirk has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
