PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lutalo Hajjar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitch Webster will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lutalo Hajjar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitch Webster!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hajjar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Webster wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Webster is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hajjar asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hajjar content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Hajjar misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Webster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hajjar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Webster sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hajjar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Webster's head.
Hajjar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Webster does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hajjar uses his free foot to push down on Webster's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Webster.

You get the feeling that Webster really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lutalo Hajjar.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hajjar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
