The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiliam doesn't manage to clinch there - owens circles away.
owens shoots in but Wiliam avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wiliam shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Wiliam is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but owens is surviving well by controlling Wiliam's body position as best he can.
owens tries to get back to half guard but can't.

owens trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Wiliam will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
owens's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Wiliam's hands.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wiliam controls the position.

Wiliam looking to break owens's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. owens remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Wiliam will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

owens is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
owens is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
owens is breathing heavily.

owens decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Wiliam takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Wiliam drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
owens is being controlled here.
owens tries to bench press Wiliam off him but Wiliam keeps the position.
owens wants to control but Wiliam postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wiliam remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wiliam shoots in and drives through. owens sprawls well.

Wiliam wanted to stand there but owens had control of the position.

owens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wiliam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wiliam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
owens wants to get back to his feet but Wiliam is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
owens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
