Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anton Assault (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Files (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Files is defended easily by Assault .
Files ducks under a wild hook from Assault .
Files moves into range and clinches up with Assault .
Files tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Anton Assault has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Files.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Assault takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Files moves forwards but Assault connects with a nice, crisp jab.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Assault leaves Files with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Assault tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Files paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Files shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Assault pinned against the cage. Assault gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Assault is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Files.

Files has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Assault uses from the top position.

Assault ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Files moves away.

Assault connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Assault fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Files shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Assault but Assault pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Files dives in and grabs Assault 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Assault pushes down on Files's head and hops out.
Files tries to close the distance and clinch up but Assault swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Files shoots in for a double leg but Assault sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
