Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lam Alamat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hikaru Monotoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hikaru Monotoshi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alamat throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Monotoshi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alamat swivels and escapes.
Monotoshi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alamat throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Monotoshi blocks a jab.
Monotoshi blocks a low kick nicely.
Monotoshi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Monotoshi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Alamat managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Monotoshi.
Monotoshi works to advance to full mount. Alamat defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monotoshi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alamat has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Monotoshi connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Monotoshi looking to secure an arm triangle but Alamat defends it well.

Alamat tries to hold on but Monotoshi postures up.
Monotoshi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Monotoshi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alamat has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Alamat is trying to stand up.

Alamat is trying desperately to improve position.
Alamat is breathing heavily.
Monotoshi controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Monotoshi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Alamat tried to score with a low kick but Monotoshi checks it.
Monotoshi shoots in looking for a takedown. Alamat tries to sprawl out of it but Monotoshi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alamat manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Monotoshi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alamat napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Alamat is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Monotoshi staying calm.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hikaru Monotoshi just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alamat throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Monotoshi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alamat!
Alamat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Monotoshi on the ground.

Monotoshi has hold of Alamat's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alamat manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Monotoshi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alamat looks a forlorn figure.
Monotoshi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Monotoshi breaks from Alamat's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Monotoshi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Monotoshi get's back to his feet.
Monotoshi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alamat circles away.

Monotoshi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Well, if Monotoshi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Monotoshi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Monotoshi controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hikaru Monotoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Monotoshi forces Alamat back against the cage and clinches.
Alamat stops a takedown attempt from Monotoshi.

Monotoshi successfully pulls guard.
Alamat throws a strike but Monotoshi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Monotoshi looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Monotoshi avoids the body shot from Alamat.
Monotoshi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Alamat dodges the punch combination from Monotoshi.
Monotoshi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lam Alamat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hikaru Monotoshi.
Monotoshi misses with a head kick.

Monotoshi has closed the distance and engaged Alamat in a clinch.
Monotoshi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Monotoshi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Monotoshi checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lam Alamat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monotoshi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alamat sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Monotoshi somewhat.
Monotoshi throws a looping overhand right but Alamat ducks down to avoid it.
Alamat stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Alamat connects with a nice looking jab.

Monotoshi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alamat's half guard.
Alamat is in trouble now - Monotoshi has advanced to mount!

Monotoshi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hikaru Monotoshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Monotoshi looking to isolate an arm here. Alamat doesn't see it coming and as Monotoshi extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Monotoshi!
