Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Arling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allan Arling has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gustavo Santos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Allan Arling!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arling avoids it really well and circles away.
Santos circles away from the clinch attempt.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arling sprawls well. Arling wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.
Santos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Arling is fending him off so far but Santos persists. Nope, Arling circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavo Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santos drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Arling lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Santos has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Santos and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Arling shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Santos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Arling is on top in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Arling is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santos has escaped and now he's on top!

Santos gets to his feet. Arling looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Arling wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance.

and Arling counters with a takedown into side control.
Arling laying and praying for a moment but Santos takes advantage and regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Santos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Arling is looking to land body kicks.
Arling tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Santos counters with a nice double leg into side control. Arling won't be happy with that.

Santos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arling has escaped the position, nice work there.

Arling is trying to control Santos's posture but Santos avoids it.

Arling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Arling gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Arling defends the submission attempt.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Arling shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Santos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Arling wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.

Arling gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Arling gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Santos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Arling's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Arling wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him.

Arling wants to stand and escape but Santos is having none of it.
Santos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Arling escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Arling throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Arling not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Arling avoids a kick to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gustavo Santos showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Santos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
