PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Alucard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Cheeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cheeda has chosen Eye Of the Tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Alucard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mo Cheeda!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alucard wants to clinch up but Cheeda keeps it at a distance.
Alucard stuffs the takedown attempt from Cheeda. Cheeda gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Alucard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alucard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Alucard dips to his left and cracks Cheeda with an uppercut!
Dan Alucard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alucard defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cheeda.
Cheeda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alucard as he avoids it easily.
Dan Alucard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mo Cheeda.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cheeda can do anything to dispel that myth.

Alucard uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Cheeda gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Alucard tries to clinch up but Cheeda circles away and keeps his distance.

Alucard throws a right hand that Cheeda ducks under and follows up with a left that Cheeda also avoids with ease.

Alucard scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cheeda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alucard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cheeda wants to improve his position but Alucard is controlling well.

Alucard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cheeda for as long as he can get away with.

The referee asks Alucard politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Alucard prefers to stall for the moment though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cheeda.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cheeda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alucard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alucard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cheeda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alucard but Alucard pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alucard jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dan Alucard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alucard misses with a two punch combination.
Cheeda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alucard defends it nicely.

Alucard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alucard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cheeda is working to get back to half guard.
Alucard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cheeda is breathing heavily.

Alucard prevents Cheeda from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alucard controlling from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dan Alucard just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Alucard fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alucard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alucard scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Alucard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cheeda circles away quickly and effectively.
Alucard connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Alucard closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Cheeda tries for a takedown but Alucard circles away easily
and Alucard counters with a left and a right... And another left! Cheeda is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Alucard!
