The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Tyson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tyson thows a body shot but no joy.
Tyson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McDonough shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McDonough showed some decent athleticism there.
Tyson is staying active underneath McDonough, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
McDonough thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tyson's head.
McDonough trying to control from half guard but Tyson is working away.
McDonough is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Tyson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McDonough controlling the pace for now.
Tyson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McDonough can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tyson is looking to escape.
Tyson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McDonough on the ground.

McDonough wants to take Tyson's back here but Tyson is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Tyson tries to lock up and control but McDonough gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Tyson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McDonough looking to finish with strikes here!
McDonough has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tyson is trying to escape the mount.
McDonough scoring with strikes but Tyson is staying in there.
McDonough wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

McDonough goes for an armbar but Tyson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tyson.
Tyson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McDonough is keeping the position for now.
Tyson trying to stand up but can't free himself from McDonough's guard.
McDonough is trying to control the position but Tyson postures up.

Let's hope that McDonough has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McDonough thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
McDonough pulls Tyson in close to prevent any damage.
McDonough wants to sweep here but Tyson controlling him for the moment.
Tyson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McDonough is proving hard to escape from.
McDonough tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tyson postures up.
McDonough looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tyson is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tyson moves out of range as McDonough strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Some wild striking there from Tyson.
Tyson moves away from the strike by McDonough.
Tyson throws a right hand that McDonough ducks under and follows up with a left that McDonough also avoids with ease.
Tyson scores with a three punch combo!
McDonough looks to land a right hand but Tyson moved out of range.
A big right from McDonough misses.
Tyson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mike Tyson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonough shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tyson sprawls well. Tyson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McDonough gets slowly back to his feet.
Tyson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William McDonough dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



McDonough shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
McDonough controlling his opponent.
McDonough trying to control but Tyson is having none of it.

McDonough working for a guillotine from mount but Tyson is in no mood to give up.
McDonough tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tyson wants to hold on but McDonough pushes him away.
McDonough tries to control but Tyson wriggling away.

McDonough moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tyson has worked his arm free - good work by Tyson!

Tyson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
McDonough is thwarting Tyson's attempts to control the position.
Tyson is looking for a sweep. McDonough is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McDonough is figuring out what he wants to do next.
McDonough is pressing down on Tyson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tyson is holding on for now.
McDonough is keen to just control but Tyson is a slippery customer.
McDonough trying to pass the guard but Tyson defending well.
Tyson trying to control but McDonough postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tyson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McDonough is breathing heavily.
Tyson misses with the combination.
Some wild striking there from Tyson.
Mike Tyson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tyson misses with a two punch combination.
Tyson misses with a body shot
and Tyson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tyson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McDonough counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tyson thinking.
McDonough misses with a double jab.

Tyson throws a body punch but McDonough moves out of range.

and McDonough counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyson won't be happy with that.
McDonough wants to control but Tyson is keeping him busy.
Tyson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyson is looking to reverse the position.
McDonough advances to full mount.
Tyson blocking the ground and pound.

McDonough looking to isolate an arm here. Tyson doesn't see it coming and as McDonough extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by McDonough!
