Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug MacKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doug MacKenzie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacKenzie has Pierre up against the cage in a clinch.
MacKenzie goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pierre prevents it.

MacKenzie decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacKenzie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pierre.
Pierre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
MacKenzie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
MacKenzie wants to sweep but no luck.
Pierre prevents MacKenzie from getting back to his feet.
Pierre wants to pass the guard but MacKenzie is keeping the position.

MacKenzie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pierre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pierre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
MacKenzie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pierre scores with a takedown into MacKenzie's guard.
Pierre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. MacKenzie is keeping the position for now.

Pierre stands up over MacKenzie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
MacKenzie wants to stand and escape but Pierre is having none of it.
Pierre is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
MacKenzie is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pierre dives into side control.
MacKenzie is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pierre connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused MacKenzie some visible discomfort.
MacKenzie is not content to let Pierre control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by MacKenzie, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
MacKenzie is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pierre has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pierre landing strikes.
MacKenzie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
MacKenzie is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Pierre is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. MacKenzie looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pierre gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. MacKenzie is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pierre lets go of the hold and MacKenzie can pop his arm back in it's socket.
