PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knight has chosen Let's Fighting Love as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Knight works Doyle's body with a nice hook.
Doyle turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Knight shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Doyle defends it nicely.
Greg Doyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Doyle lands a high kick!
Knight slips a straight right by Doyle.
Doyle misses with a low kick as Knight jumps back.
Knight fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Doyle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Knight.
Greg Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Knight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Knight.
Knight dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Knight steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Doyle.
Doyle fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Doyle throws a hook but Knight avoids it easily.

Knight bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knight throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Doyle works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Doyle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Knight sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Knight changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doyle tries to avoid it but Knight manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doyle to the ground. Doyle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Knight dodges the punch combination from Doyle.
Doyle throws a sloppy head kick and Knight moves out of range easily.
Knight fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Doyle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A nice inside leg kick there by Doyle. That's going to slow Knight down.
Greg Doyle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Doyle lands a nice shot to the body.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Doyle as he jumps to the side.
Doyle connects with a looping right hand.

Doyle throws a sloppy head kick and Knight moves out of range easily.
Doyle feints and then cracks Knight's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knight down.

Doyle throws a jab but it's blocked by Knight.

A cross from Doyle lands.

Doyle's corner calls for a 1-2. Doyle obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Knight avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Doyle throws a right and a left that both miss.
A slow jab from Knight misses its intended target.
Doyle jabs at Knight's body.
Knight closes this distance looking for a takedown but Doyle circles away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Doyle, as that shot connected.
Doyle with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Doyle scores with a sloppy right hand. Knight should have avoided that one.

Knight is rocked!
Nice jab there from Doyle.
Knight is still on wobbly legs! Can Doyle finish him?
Doyle drops Knight with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Knight! Doyle dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
