Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Bismol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bismol might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here Comes The Pain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Bismol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nelson, right into the meat.
Bismol swats away the attempt to clinch by Nelson.
Bismol throws a big shot that misses.
Bismol fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nelson avoids it really well and circles away.
Nelson lands a high kick!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bismol.
Nelson throws a series of punches but Bismol moves out of range.

Nelson has Bismol up against the cage in a clinch.

Nelson breaks from the clinch.
Bismol fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nelson avoids it really well and circles away.

Bismol working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nelson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nelson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bismol is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nelson is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bismol shoots in for a takedown but Nelson shows good takedown defense.
Bismol gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Nelson.
Nelson misses with a wild combination.
Bismol changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to avoid it but Bismol manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nelson to the ground. Nelson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bismol connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nelson. Nelson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bismol throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bismol has his takedown stuffed
and Nelson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Nelson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bismol swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A combination from Bismol does no damage.
Bismol's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Bismol duly obliges.

and Nelson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Nelson misses with a body kick.
Bismol misses with a takedown

and Nelson counters by clinching up.
Bismol fails to pull guard.

Nelson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bismol tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nelson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bismol somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Bismol. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bismol avoids the head kick by Nelson.
Nelson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bismol shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nelson counters with a good low kick that Bismol was not able to check.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bismol steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Nelson. That one must have hurt.
Bismol throws a lazy right hand but Nelson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nelson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bismol is trying to defend but Nelson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bismol is trying to keep Nelson in close.

Bismol shoots in but no luck this time.
Bismol shoots in but Nelson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nelson is looking to clinch but Bismol is avoiding it.

and Nelson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bismol really felt that one!

and Nelson counters with a head kick. That will keep Bismol thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Nelson wants to get up but he can't break Bismol's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nelson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nelson stands up over Bismol, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Bismol decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bismol is nestled in close to Nelson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Nelson has hold of Bismol's hands but Bismol slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nelson is looking to improve his position.

Bismol is trying for a kimura here. Nelson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bismol wins by kimura!
