Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Georges stJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rousimar Palahares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
stJ leaves Palahares with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Palahares or perhaps it was just good defense by stJ which made him look bad.
Palahares closes the distance and clinches up with stJ, looking for a takedown. Palahares pushes stJ against the cage but stJ circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Georges stJ has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rousimar Palahares.
stJ throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Rousimar Palahares has been cut.
Palahares blocks a head kick by stJ.
stJ throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Palahares was covering up waiting for the punch and stJ finishes the takedown easily into guard.
stJ stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Palahares swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Palahares wants to stand and escape but stJ is having none of it.
stJ is stalling in the full guard.
stJ has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
stJ looking to pass the guard.
stJ knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palahares on the ground.

Palahares is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. stJ is aware though and is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
stJ forces his way into half guard.
stJ tries to pass the half guard into mount. Palahares knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
stJ is thwarting Palahares's attempts to control the position.

stJ seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palahares trying to control but stJ postures up.
stJ drops an elbow to the side of Palahares's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. stJ lands a nice short elbow.
Palahares is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but stJ pulls his head out easily.
Palahares looks gassed!
stJ looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
stJ is looking to advance position but Palahares won't allow it.
stJ winds up and cracks Palahares with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Palahares has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. stJ is working away from the top position though.

stJ escapes and gets back to his feet.
Palahares tries for a takedown but stJ circles away easily
and stJ counters with a nice double leg into guard.
stJ is pushing down on Palahares's leg trying to pass to half guard. Palahares is fighting to maintain full guard but stJ has managed to sneak the leg through.
stJ is looking to advance position but Palahares won't allow it.
stJ with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
stJ's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
stJ tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Palahares.

stJ throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Palahares misses with a takedown attempt
and stJ counters with a shoot takedown. Palahares fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Palahares has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. stJ doesn't defend quickly enough and Palahares has managed to lock this one up! Can stJ escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Palahares on a fantastic submission victory.
