PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Coke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredrick Stonewall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stonewall is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Shadow Play by the Killers. Fredrick Stonewall is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Coke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fredrick Stonewall!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coke looks to land a left hand but Stonewall moved out of range nicely.
Coke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Stonewall or perhaps it was just good defense by Coke which made him look bad.
Coke misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stonewall dives in and grabs Coke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Coke pushes down on Stonewall's head and hops out.

Oooh a lovely combination from Coke sends Stonewall down but not out. Coke dives into side control looking to finish.


Stonewall is rocked!
Coke tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Stonewall is still in real trouble! Can Coke finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stonewall is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Coke is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Stonewall seems to have recovered his senses.

Coke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stonewall keeps working.
Stonewall tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
You can see the frustration on Stonewall's face as Coke controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stonewall gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Coke postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Stonewall to stand up.
Coke thows a body shot but no joy.
Coke digs a good hook to Stonewall's body.
Coke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ken Coke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fredrick Stonewall.

Coke lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Stonewall sprawling to the canvas. Coke follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Stonewall hang on?
Stonewall is refusing to be controlled, as Coke sits in half guard.

Coke is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Stonewall manages to get to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stonewall is trying desperately to land a takedown but Coke is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Stonewall.

Stonewall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Coke is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Stonewall has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Coke doesn't defend quickly enough and Stonewall has managed to lock this one up! Can Coke escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Stonewall on a fantastic submission victory.
