Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hazel Murphi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Noth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Noth acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hazel Murphi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Noth!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noth takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Chris Noth has been cut.
Murphi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Noth.
Murphi throws a body kick that misses.
Noth bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Noth shoots in but Murphi avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hazel Murphi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Noth.
Noth is trying hard to land a takedown here. Murphi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Noth uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murphi.

Noth takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Chris Noth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Noth feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Noth drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Noth jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Noth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murphi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Noth passes into half guard.

Murphi manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Murphi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Noth throws a lazy right hand but Murphi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Murphi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Murphi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Noth throws a shot from downtown. Murphi moves away and avoids it.

Noth drives through with a takedown into guard.

Murphi has his foot on Noth's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Noth works his way back into a safe position though.

Noth drops back looking for a leg! Murphi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murphi manages to kick Noth off! Noth jumps back into Murphi's guard.

Noth is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Noth looks gassed!
Murphi can't keep his opponent in guard - Noth advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Murphi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Noth is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Murphi defends it well.

Noth is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Murphi sees it coming and defends easily.

Noth looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Murphi pushes Noth off looking to stand but Noth dives back in and keeps control.

Noth uses his free foot to push down on Murphi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Murphi.

Noth jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Murphi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Noth is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Murphi has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Murphi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Noth tries to get to full guard but Murphi has control of the leg.
Murphi wants to get back to his feet.
Murphi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Noth on the ground.

Noth makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Noth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Noth is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Murphi defends well.

Noth is looking for a triangle but Murphi pushes his legs off easily.

Murphi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Noth swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Noth is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Murphi is looking for a sweep. Noth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Noth is trying to work for a kimura but Murphi is defending well.
Chris Noth has got the better of the ground game so far.

Noth is looking for a kimura but Murphi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Noth to get the leverage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Noth throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Murphi has his hands clasped together but Noth breaks the hold and Murphi is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Noth!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Noth!
