The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pawlovic shoots in and drives through. Gervais sprawls well.
Gervais loads up on a big right hand but Pawlovic slips the punch.
Gervais ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pawlovic moves away.
Gervais slaps away a takedown attempt from Pawlovic, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pawlovic shoots for a takedown but Gervais saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ricky Gervais has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirko Pawlovic.
Gervais tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gervais throws an overhand right that lands on Pawlovic's shoulder, as Pawlovic tries to avoid the shot.

Gervais has hold of one of Pawlovic's legs. Pawlovic is fighting the takedown attempt but Gervais gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
