PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Octavio Paixao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paixao comes to the cage accompanied by "Death by Blonde" by Devotchka. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gracie staying out of range there.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paixao circles away.
Gracie is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Paixao.

Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Paixao dives on top into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paixao has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Paixao seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie works to advance to full mount. Paixao defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Paixao which made him look bad.

Paixao fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Paixao knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paixao's guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Paixao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paixao manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Paixao's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Eric Gracie.
I think Paixao has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
