PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Still (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Capt Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larsen has chosen Gravediggaz - Diary of a madman as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Matt Still has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Matt Still seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Capt Larsen!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Still looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Still stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Larsen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still throws a big right hand that misses.
Larsen trying to control the position.
Still has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Larsen wants to sweep here but Still controlling him for the moment.

Still shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Larsen is trying to defend but Still finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

and Still counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Still, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
