PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryley Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Deloy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deloy is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Monster. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryley Spencer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mason Deloy!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Deloy shoots for a double leg takedown but Spencer sprawls well. He's pushed Deloy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

It looks like Mason Deloy has been cut.

Deloy has Spencer pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Deloy pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Spencer tumbling to the mat - Deloy dives into Spencer's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryley Spencer will probably get the nod.

Spencer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Deloy pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Deloy as he avoids it easily.

and Spencer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Deloy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spencer tries to avoid it but Deloy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spencer to the ground. Spencer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Deloy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Spencer clobbers Deloy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Spencer jumps guard but Deloy stands there with Spencer around his waist. Spencer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Deloy manages to get his head free but now Spencer has transitioned to an armbar! Deloy grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Spencer! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
