Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boxer Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frankie Edgar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boxer Guy!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Guy won't allow Edgar to get back to his feet.
Guy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Guy stops Edgar from standing up.
Guy trying to control but Edgar is working from the bottom.

Guy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guy fails with a takedown attempt.
Guy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Edgar defends it nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Frankie Edgar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boxer Guy.

Edgar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guy.
Guy looks to land a combination but Edgar avoids it well.

Edgar stuffs the takedown attempt from Guy. Guy gets slowly back to his feet.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guy.
Edgar throws a combination that misses

and Guy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Edgar won't be happy with that.
Edgar tries to escape but Guy is in control.
Guy wants to stand but Edgar is controlling his arm.

Guy swings around for an armbar but Edgar sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Guy's guard.

Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Edgar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Edgar misses with a two punch combination.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
No luck for Guy with that takedown attempt.
Guy shoots for a double leg takedown but Edgar sprawls well. He's pushed Guy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Guy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Edgar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Guy somewhat.
Edgar fails to land with a series of punches.
Edgar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Edgar wants it to stay on the feet.

Edgar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Guy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Guy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Edgar uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Guy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Frankie Edgar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Edgar connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Guy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Edgar as he avoids it easily.
Edgar looks to land a combination but Guy avoids it well.

Guy closes the distance and clinches up with Edgar, looking for a takedown. Guy pushes Edgar against the cage but Edgar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Guy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Edgar napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Guy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Edgar is just riding it out for now. Guy eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Guy slows the pace down in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Guy gets a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Boxer Guy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Guy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
