The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardona closes the distance and clinches up with Hegarty, looking for a takedown. Cardona pushes Hegarty against the cage but Hegarty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nice combo by Hegarty! Oh, that's hurt him - Cardona falls to the canvas and Hegarty follows him into side control.

Cardona is rocked!

It looks like Mac Mac Cardona has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hegarty decides to stand back up. Hegarty steps back and let's Cardona get back to his feet.
Oh Cardona is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hegarty throws a head kick that misses.

Hegarty dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Cardona has had enough and taps out.
