The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lyntus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bird looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bird being controlled for a moment.
Lyntus lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bird down.
Lyntus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bird keeps working.
Bird is looking to regain half guard here but Lyntus keeps moving and retains side control.
Bird really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyntus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lyntus is looking to take a break and control but Bird is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bird is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
