Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tadashi Yamashita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Sheehy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Sheehy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamashita leaves Sheehy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Yamashita tries to keep at a distance but Sheehy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sheehy tries to score a body lock takedown but Yamashita shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Yamashita lands with a right to the head.

Sheehy jumps guard.
Sheehy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sheehy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Yamashita connects with a couple of short punches.
Yamashita cracks Sheehy with a solid left hand.

Sheehy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheehy wants to get back to his feet but Yamashita is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sheehy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sheehy looking to control and managing it successfully.
Yamashita is in all sorts of trouble here.
Yamashita tries to lock up and control but Sheehy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Yamashita really wants to buck Sheehy off and get back to his feet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
You get the feeling that Yamashita really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Yamashita is desperately trying to improve his position but Sheehy has a good base and remains in mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sheehy working for a guillotine from mount but Yamashita is in no mood to give up.
Sheehy looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Sheehy won't let Yamashita get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Yamashita trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sheehy is working for a guillotine from mount but Yamashita frees his head quite easily.

Sheehy looking to finish Yamashita with some ground and pound. This is bad for Yamashita!
Yamashita's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Sheehy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Yamashita manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Yamashita tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sheehy avoids the strikes from the bottom by Yamashita.

Yamashita explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Yamashita lands a glancing blow to the side of Sheehy's head.
Yamashita throws a jab but it's blocked by Sheehy.
Yamashita swinging wilding here.
Yamashita lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sheehy at a distance.
Tadashi Yamashita is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yamashita pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Yamashita misses with a looping left.
Sheehy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Bobby Sheehy has been cut.
Sheehy staying out of range there.
Sheehy moves away from the strike by Yamashita.
Yamashita lands a jab to the nose.
Yamashita misses with a hook. Sheehy ducked under it nicely.
Sheehy moves out of range of the strikes.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sheehy moves forwards but Yamashita connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Sheehy moves into the clinch successfully.
Yamashita doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sheehy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yamashita is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tadashi Yamashita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Sheehy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yamashita lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Yamashita breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yamashita throws a big shot that misses.
A swing and a miss from Yamashita.
Yamashita throws a hook to the side of Sheehy's head but Sheehy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Yamashita misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sheehy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yamashita avoids it really well and circles away.
Yamashita throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yamashita throws a looping overhand right but Sheehy ducks down to avoid it.
Yamashita looks to land a right hand but Sheehy moved out of range.
Yamashita throws out a loose jab but Sheehy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sheehy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yamashita is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yamashita regains half guard.
Yamashita tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Yamashita is trying to stand back up but Sheehy is controlling him
Yamashita has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sheehy is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tadashi Yamashita dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bobby Sheehy's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Yamashita throws out a powerful jab.
Sheehy ducks under a wild hook from Yamashita.
Sheehy shoots in and drives through. Yamashita sprawls well.
Sheehy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sheehy drops his hands momentarily and Yamashita takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Yamashita is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Yamashita lands with an overhand left.


Sheehy is rocked!
A combination from Yamashita does no damage.
Sheehy is still on wobbly legs! Can Yamashita finish him?
Sheehy ducks under a wild hook from Yamashita.
Yamashita lands with a big left! Sheehy is wobbled badly! Yamashita comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Sheehy to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tadashi Yamashita!
