The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Takahashi backs up against the cage.
Yamamoto getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Yamamoto misses with a double jab.
Takahashi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamamoto's waist but Yamamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takahashi off to one side.
Yamamoto misses the jab.
Takahashi fails to land the takedown.
Yamamoto misses with the combination.
Yamamoto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takahashi gets the takedown into side control.
Takahashi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
