Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demian Maia!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots in but no luck this time.
Maia fails in his attempt to clinch.
Meyer cracks Maia with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Demian Maia has been cut.
Meyer lands a slapping body shot.
Horrible takedown by Maia or perhaps it was just good defense by Meyer which made him look bad.
A head kick misses from Maia.
Maia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meyer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maia somewhat.

Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Meyer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Meyer lands a left and a right that send Maia crashing to the mat, dazed. Meyer thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Meyer. Maia shrugs it off though.
Meyer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Meyer, right into the meat.

Meyer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jacob Meyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Meyer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Maia takes a step back to recover.
Maia blocks a head kick by Meyer.
Meyer scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

That has opened up Demian Maia's cut even more.
Meyer pushes Maia away with a front kick.
Meyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Meyer throws a front kick that sends Maia stumbling back into the cage.

Meyer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Maia takes a step back to recover.
Meyer tries to bum rush Maia with a series of wild strikes but Maia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Meyer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Meyer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Meyer pushes Maia away with a front kick.
Meyer scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Meyer plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

The cut above Demian Maia's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Maia on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Meyer. Meyer obviously looking to wear him down.
Meyer throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily.

Meyer lands a lovely overhand right.

Meyer moves into the clinch.
Maia keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Meyer's efforts to push away.

Meyer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Meyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Meyer throws a combination. Maia tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maia takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Maia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Meyer throws a right and a left that Maia avoids nicely.

Meyer jabs Maia right on the nose. Maia blinks but takes it well.

Maia dives in and grabs Meyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes down on Maia's head and hops out.

Demian Maia's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Meyer scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Maia has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Meyer.
Meyer tries to clinch up.
Meyer misses with a two punch combination.
Meyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maia can do to turn this around?
Maia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meyer is fending him off so far but Maia persists. Nope, Meyer circles away and we're back to standing.
