Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter McCannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Greenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greenway comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Greed killing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Barney Greenway told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Greenway is working for takedown but McCannon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Greenway is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McCannon pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Greenway gets a trip takedown into half guard.
McCannon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Greenway is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McCannon is just riding it out for now. Greenway eventually gives up the hold.

McCannon manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Greenway.
Peter McCannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barney Greenway.

McCannon moves in looking to clinch but Greenway pushes him off.

McCannon forces Greenway back against the cage and clinches.
Greenway tries to score a body lock takedown but McCannon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

It looks like Barney Greenway has been cut.

Greenway tries for a takedown but McCannon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Greenway tries to keep at a distance but McCannon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Greenway prevents McCannon from breaking the clinch.
McCannon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Greenway avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Greenway won't allow McCannon to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greenway stands and throws McCannon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Greenway tries to move to mount but McCannon blocks the move with his legs.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Greenway has a takedown stuffed.
McCannon throws a head kick that half lands.
McCannon throws a sloppy head kick and Greenway moves out of range easily.
Horrible takedown by Greenway or perhaps it was just good defense by McCannon which made him look bad.

Greenway is looking for a kimura but McCannon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Greenway to get the leverage.

The fight stays on the outside here - McCannon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McCannon, right into the meat.

McCannon has closed the distance and engaged Greenway in a clinch.
Greenway has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McCannon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McCannon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McCannon throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Greenway stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. McCannon follows into mount!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A head kick by McCannon - that's a beauty! Greenway is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even McCannon can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
