Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giuseppe Capuccio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philip Lindskog!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindskog goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Giuseppe Capuccio has been cut.

Lindskog shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Capuccio is pressing down on Lindskog's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Lindskog stands and steps away. Capuccio gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lindskog closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Capuccio gets back to half guard.

Lindskog is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lindskog tries to pass to full mount but Capuccio defends it.

Lindskog is looking to advance position but Capuccio won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lindskog moves into the clinch successfully.
Capuccio drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Capuccio is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lindskog pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Lindskog breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lindskog staying out of range there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lindskog feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Capuccio's calf.
Capuccio shoots and misses
and Lindskog counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giuseppe Capuccio. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lindskog shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lindskog showed some decent athleticism there.

Lindskog wants to take a breather but Capuccio is having none of it.

Capuccio tries to roll over but Lindskog keeps him under control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lindskog lands a nice short elbow.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lindskog breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Capuccio has his takedown stuffed

and Lindskog counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lindskog wants to control from the top but Capuccio keeps moving.
Lindskog prevents Capuccio from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lindskog gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lindskog takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Lindskog has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Capuccio uses from the top position.

Capuccio drops back looking for a leg! Lindskog is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lindskog manages to kick Capuccio off! Capuccio jumps back into Lindskog's guard.

Capuccio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lindskog tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Capuccio thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Capuccio fails with the takedown

and Lindskog counters with a nice double leg into side control. Capuccio won't be happy with that.

Lindskog wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Capuccio, who protects the arm well.
Capuccio is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Capuccio wants to get back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lindskog winds up and cracks Capuccio with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lindskog is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Lindskog counters with a head kick.
Capuccio connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Lindskog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Capuccio wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lindskog wants to control but Capuccio is keeping him busy.

Lindskog creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Lindskog wants to stand but Capuccio has his arm trapped.
Capuccio sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lindskog seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Capuccio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Capuccio is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Lindskog is tapping! Great win for Capuccio!
