Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Riberio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Arlovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arlovski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. fuck the weak kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexandre Riberio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Arlovski!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riberio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Arlovski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Arlovski misses with the combination.
Riberio could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Arlovski misses with a jab, cross combination.
Riberio shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arlovski as he jumps to the side.
Riberio throws a right and a left that Arlovski avoids nicely.

Arlovski instigates a clinch.

Arlovski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Riberio has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nice takedown defense from Arlovski. No joy for Riberio on that attempt.

Riberio is trying to drag Arlovski to the mat but Arlovski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Arlovski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Arlovski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riberio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Arlovski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Riberio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arlovski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Arlovski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Arlovski moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Arlovski dives in and grabs Riberio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Riberio pushes down on Arlovski's head and hops out.

Arlovski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Arlovski counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Arlovski gets control of Riberio's arms and successfully pulls guard. Arlovski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Riberio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Arlovski's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Riberio swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Arlovski is now in Riberio's guard. A big mistake from Riberio there, giving up the dominant position!

Oh but Riberio is tightening it up a little... Arlovski has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Arlovski reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Arlovski taps out! nice BJJ there by Riberio!
