Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gessinger Maltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardinho Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gessinger Maltz could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ricardinho Gabriel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gessinger Maltz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maltz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Gabriel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gabriel remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Maltz wanted to stand there but Gabriel had control of the position.
Maltz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gabriel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maltz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gabriel's guard.

Maltz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gabriel napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Gessinger Maltz will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gabriel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gabriel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gabriel drops back, looking for a kneebar! Maltz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Maltz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Maltz!

Maltz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gabriel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Maltz creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gabriel sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Maltz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gabriel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gessinger Maltz.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maltz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
