Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mendes as he jumps to the side.

Mendes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Mendes is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Mendes's body position as best he can.
Poor strikes thrown by Mendes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Jones is working to get back to half guard.

Mendes goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mendes throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jones uses it to pass to side control.

Mendes is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mendes is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mendes drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Mendes off! Mendes jumps back into Jones's guard.

Jones has his feet on Mendes's thighs here. He's pushed Mendes off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mendes screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
