The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bauer throws and elbow that misses. Polliver uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bauer's guard. Nice move by Polliver!

Bauer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Polliver manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bauer has Polliver in his guard.

Polliver closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Polliver has hold of Bauer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bauer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The referee warns Bauer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Bauer has his foot on Polliver's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Polliver works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Polliver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Bauer.
