The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zaromskis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ruas, pushing him back against the cage.

Zaromskis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ruas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruas is looking to take a break and control but Zaromskis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ruas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zaromskis to his feet.
Ruas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Zaromskis at a distance.

Ruas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Zaromskis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ruas as he jumps to the side.
Zaromskis dives in and grabs Ruas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ruas pushes down on Zaromskis's head and hops out.
Zaromskis throws a series of punches but Ruas moves out of range.
