Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nameless One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Vine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nameless One!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vince Vine!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vine shoots in for a double leg but One sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
One stuffs the takedown attempt from Vine. Vine gets slowly back to his feet.

Vine looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
One is in trouble now - Vine has advanced to mount!
Vine throws a sloppy strike and One uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and One has ended up in Vine's guard.

Vine looking for submissions from the bottom but instead One passes into side control.
One lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
One is putting a hurting on Vine here, landing some big shots from side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vine is rocked!
Vine is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked One off and has taken his back!
Vine is still in real trouble! Can One finish him?
One covering up well under a series of strikes from Vine.
Vine seems to have recovered his senses.
Vine cracks One with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing One from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Vine is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften One up.
Vine somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
One has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
One wants to control his opponent's hands but Vine gets his hands free.

Vine working for a choke but One is defending well.
One tries to escape but Vine has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Vine throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.

One defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Vine wants to control but One is keeping busy.

One finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
Vine prevents One from getting the reversal.
One avoids a series of strikes thrown by Vine.
Vine thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
One tries to hold on but Vine pushes him away.
Vine tries to control but One wriggling away.
BOOM! Vine connects with a massive shot to the dome!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
One wants to control but Vine is having none of it.

One holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Vine tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vine is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. One can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

A close round but Vince Vine will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Vine misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vine scores with a nice right hand.
One changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vine tries to avoid it but One manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vine to the ground. Vine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
One slips a jab from Vine.
One misses with a hook.
Vine just misses with a punch to the body.
One moves out of range as Vine strikes.

Vine drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Vine is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! One is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! One has escaped and now he's on top!

Vine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. One defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
One is looking to work some ground and pound but Vine has wrist control.
One postures up and lands a big shot to Vine's brow.
One throwing strikes but missing.
One content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Vine wants to sweep but no luck.
One is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
One lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Vine looking for subs off his back but One has passed one foot through into half guard.
Vine is breathing heavily.

One is looking to take a break and control but Vine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

One is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vine tries to roll over but One keeps him under control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. One connects with a nice short shot to Vine's temple.
One is taking a breather. Vine says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
One is keen to just control but Vine is a slippery customer.
Vine is looking to control One's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vine avoid being mounted?
Vine is pressing down on One's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

One won't allow Vine to sweep him here.

One seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Vine wants to sweep but no luck.
One trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Vine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nice sprawl there from Vine as One shoots in.
Nice straight punches there by Vine. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vine.
One uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vine.
Vine scores with a jab to the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

One has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

One wants to get back to his feet but Vine is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
One keeping moving, preventing Vine from controlling successfully.
Vine throws a strike but One rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Vine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vine doesn't succeed with the takedown

so One counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

One got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vine has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, One has managed to get both his arms back between Vine's legs - danger averted.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as One accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
One throwing strikes from guard but Vine blocks nicely.
One sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vine's guard.

Vine is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A close third round but Vince Vine just about did enough to take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


One uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vine.
Vine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but One moves away.
One smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
One smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
One punishes Vine's body with a nice straight punch.

One looks up at the clock and then as Vine takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, One smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

One throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Vine!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
One is stalling in the full guard.
One working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

One stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vine swivels though and keeps the full guard.
One looking to sit in guard and control but Vine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vine passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nameless One had his way with Vince Vine in that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Horrible takedown by One or perhaps it was just good defense by Vine which made him look bad.

Well One has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
