PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nakitu Mizajasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mizajasi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is target=blank>wild boys. Lee has chosen Murder For Fun as his entrance music. The key to victory for Nakitu Mizajasi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nakitu Mizajasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Lee!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mizajasi.
Lee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.
Mizajasi is trying to force a seperation but Lee has the dominant position.

Mizajasi decides to pull guard.

Lee stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Lee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mizajasi is trying to keep Lee in close.

Mizajasi is working an open guard so Lee takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mizajasi blocks a head kick by Lee.
Wayne Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mizajasi darts in trying to clinch

and Lee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mizajasi won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee stands up.
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Lee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lee lands in his opponent's guard.

Mizajasi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lee wants to control from the top but Mizajasi keeps moving.

Mizajasi throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mizajasi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lee fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Mizajasi moves out of range easily.

Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lee looks gassed!
Lee throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mizajasi wants to improve his position but Lee is controlling well.
Lee passes into side control, despite Mizajasi's attempt to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee stands up and beckons Mizajasi to his feet.
Lee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mizajasi moves away.
Lee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mizajasi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mizajasi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lee pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nakitu Mizajasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Mizajasi makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lee really felt that one!
Lee misses with a looping left.
Mizajasi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lee throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mizajasi shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lee gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Lee dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Lee thows a body shot but no joy.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mizajasi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mizajasi tries for a kimura but Lee is defending well.
Lee is looking for a sweep.
Mizajasi wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Lee is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mizajasi is controlling him well.
Lee wants to control but Mizajasi postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lee is not content to let Mizajasi control the position.

Mizajasi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lee is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lee struggling a bit here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lee looks to land a combination but Mizajasi avoids it well.
Mizajasi wants to clinch but Lee slips to the side
and Lee counters with a stiff right hand.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mizajasi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mizajasi somewhat.

Lee clinches up against the cage.
Mizajasi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mizajasi jumps guard but Lee stands there with Mizajasi around his waist. Mizajasi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lee is trying to trip Mizajasi. He has hold of a leg but Mizajasi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lee persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Mizajasi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.

Mizajasi misses with a takedown

and Lee moves into the clinch.
Lee has Mizajasi pressed against the cage.
Mizajasi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mizajasi tries to land knees in the clinch but Lee avoids the damage to the body.
Mizajasi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mizajasi sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mizajasi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lee is trying to control. Mizajasi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lee postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mizajasi to stand up.
Mizajasi shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mizajasi.
Lee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mizajasi.

Wayne Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Mizajasi has a takedown stuffed.

Lee shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mizajasi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lee cracks Mizajasi with a big right hand but Mizajasi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mizajasi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lee's best efforts.
Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mizajasi's head.

Lee decides to stand and escape the position.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mizajasi.

Lee shoots in and bounces Mizajasi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mizajasi looking for a sweep. Not yet Mizajasi, not yet.
Mizajasi is trying to keep Lee in close.

Lee gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lee has closed the distance and engaged Mizajasi in a clinch.
Mizajasi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lee fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mizajasi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Mizajasi fails with the takedown

and Lee counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lee.
Lee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Mizajasi looking for a guillotine here but Lee defends easily.

Lee gets to his feet. Mizajasi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lee misses with a two punch combination.
Lee throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mizajasi.
Mizajasi tries to clinch up.
Mizajasi has his takedown stuffed

and Lee counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lee.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mizajasi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mizajasi has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.

Lee manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mizajasi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Mizajasi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mizajasi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mizajasi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nakitu Mizajasi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wayne Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lee is trying to control the position but Mizajasi postures up.

Wayne Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
