The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurent misses with a takedown attempt - Arson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Laurent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Laurent drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Arson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Arson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Arson moves into full mount! Laurent won't be happy about that!

Arson has hold of Laurent's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Laurent manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Arson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Arson wants to finish this one by submission but Laurent is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Arson.

Arson has control of Laurent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Laurent regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Arson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Laurent is looking to escape.
Laurent tries to lock up and control but Arson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Arson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Laurent can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Arson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Arson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Laurent is trying to control Arson's posture. Arson takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Laurent!
