PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rip James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mr orange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think James might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to What's the difference. The crowd seem to be enjoying orange's choice of entrance music: yes. The key to victory for Rip James has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, mr orange!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. James showed some decent athleticism there.

orange has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
orange is trying to defend against the ground and pound but James scores with a couple of nice shots.
James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

James is working orange over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

James gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows orange to score an easy takedown into full guard.

James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
orange wants to get back to full guard.
James is nestled in close to orange, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

James is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and orange defends it well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to orange's temple.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

James slips a nice elbow through orange's hands, connecting with orange's forehead.

James is sneakily working for an arm triangle but orange sees it coming and defends easily.
James is breathing heavily.

James seems to be looking for submissions.
orange is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
James wants to pass the guard but orange is defending well.
James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
James thows a huge punch but orange dodges it nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling orange to counter with a crisp jab.

orange connects with a right hand. James shakes it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

orange is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

orange wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rip James dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Donk. orange catches James right on the button with a cross.
James stuns orange with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
James blocks a leg kick.
A big right from orange misses.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. orange tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag orange to the ground. orange escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

James has his feet on orange's thighs here. He's pushed orange off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! orange screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
