Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duane Dibbley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ran Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakamoto has chosen Wu tang tiger style as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Duane Dibbley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ran Sakamoto!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dibbley works the jab nicely.
Dibbley looks to land a right hand but Sakamoto moved out of range.
Dibbley misses with a looping right.
Sakamoto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dibbley.

Dibbley rushes Sakamoto and presses him up against the cage.
Sakamoto jumps guard but Dibbley stands there with Sakamoto around his waist. Sakamoto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sakamoto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dibbley smiles and moves away.

Dibbley has Sakamoto up against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dibbley creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sakamoto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Duane Dibbley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ran Sakamoto.
Sakamoto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dibbley smiles and moves away.

Dibbley clinches up with Sakamoto and pushes him back against the cage.
Dibbley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Sakamoto fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sakamoto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sakamoto fails to pull guard.
Sakamoto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dibbley's efforts to push away.

Sakamoto pulls guard effortlessly.
Dibbley showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Dibbley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sakamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dibbley has managed to get both his arms back between Sakamoto's legs - danger averted.

Dibbley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dibbley jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Dibbley instigates a clinch.

Sakamoto jumps into guard, dragging Dibbley to the mat.

Sakamoto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dibbley controls the pace.

Sakamoto looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dibbley passes into side control.

Dibbley tries for a kimura but Sakamoto is defending well.
Sakamoto is looking to regain half guard here but Dibbley keeps moving and retains side control.

Dibbley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Dibbley takes the fight into the clinch.

Sakamoto tries to pull guard but Dibbley holds him up against the cage and eventually Sakamoto drops back down to his feet.
Sakamoto fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Dibbley is trying to trip Sakamoto. He has hold of a leg but Sakamoto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dibbley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Dibbley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakamoto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dibbley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dibbley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sakamoto, up you get!

Sakamoto walks into a straight right hand from Dibbley.

Dibbley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sakamoto to the mat! Sakamoto manages to get full guard.
Dibbley advances to half guard.
Dibbley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Dibbley escapes and gets back to his feet.
Sakamoto shoots and misses

and Dibbley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dibbley tries to circle away but Sakamoto has him pinned against the cage.
Sakamoto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dibbley is trying to break the clinch but Sakamoto has him pressed against the cage.
Sakamoto jumps guard but Dibbley stands there with Sakamoto around his waist. Sakamoto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dibbley lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Dibbley lands a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duane Dibbley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dibbley tries a head kick but it misses.
Dibbley misses the shot to the body.

Sakamoto fails to pull guard.
Sakamoto tries to pull guard but Dibbley holds him up against the cage and eventually Sakamoto drops back down to his feet.

Duane Dibbley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ran Sakamoto.
Dibbley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Dibbley lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sakamoto backwards.

Dibbley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sakamoto uses from the top position.
Dibbley is looking to stand up but Sakamoto isn't so interested in that idea.

Sakamoto has gone for a leg lock! Dibbley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sakamoto's guard.

Sakamoto looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dibbley has picked Sakamoto up and slammed him! Sakamoto can't keep hold of the triangle and Dibbley manages to pass to side control!

Dibbley is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Dibbley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dibbley clinches up with Sakamoto and pushes him back against the cage.

Sakamoto drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dibbley dives on top into guard.
Dibbley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dibbley is pushing down on Sakamoto's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sakamoto is fighting to maintain full guard but Dibbley has managed to sneak the leg through.

Duane Dibbley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dibbley uses his free foot to push down on Sakamoto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sakamoto.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dibbley is going olschool here, as he tries to force Sakamoto to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sakamoto shrugs it off.
Sakamoto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Dibbley stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Dibbley closes the distance and clinches.
Sakamoto jumps guard but Dibbley stands there with Sakamoto around his waist. Sakamoto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dibbley jumps guard and drags Sakamoto to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dibbley is pulling down on Sakamoto's head to control his posture.
Dibbley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dibbley tries to get out of the position.

Sakamoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dibbley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sakamoto has Dibbley in his guard.
Dibbley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sakamoto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Duane Dibbley just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dibbley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dibbley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sakamoto's guard.
Dibbley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Sakamoto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dibbley pulls his head out easily.

Dibbley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sakamoto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dibbley pulls his head out easily.

Dibbley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sakamoto with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Duane Dibbley just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Well Dibbley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
