Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Tilberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Tilberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Edgar!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tilberg blocks a head kick by Edgar.

Edgar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Edgar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tilberg wants to get back to his feet.
Edgar content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Edgar throws a strike but Tilberg avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Tilberg wants to get back to his feet but Edgar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tilberg tries to stall but Edgar uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Tilberg lands a good knee to the midsection. Edgar won't want to take too many of those.
Edgar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Tilberg will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Edgar comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tilberg fails in his attempt to clinch.

Edgar feints and as Tilberg raises his hands in defense, Edgar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Edgar wants to control from the top but Tilberg keeps moving.
Edgar's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Edgar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Edgar passes Tilberg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tilberg is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edgar is looking to take a break and control but Tilberg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Edgar decides to return to a standing position.
Edgar fails with the takedown.

Edgar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tilberg was covering up waiting for the punch and Edgar finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Matt Tilberg is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tilberg gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edgar to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Tilberg stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tilberg wants it to stay on the feet.
Tilberg wants to clinch.

Tilberg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Edgar paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tilberg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Edgar.
Matt Tilberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Edgar.
Edgar is breathing heavily.
Tilberg tries to close the distance and clinch but Edgar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Edgar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tilberg's guard now.
Edgar prevents Tilberg from getting back to his feet.
Edgar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Edgar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Edgar won't allow Tilberg to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Edgar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Tilberg looks to score with a jab to the body but Edgar is just out of range.

Matt Tilberg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Edgar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tilberg sprawls well initially but Edgar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Edgar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tilberg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tilberg has hold of Edgar's hands but Edgar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Edgar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tilberg as he jumps to the side.
Edgar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Edgar lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Edgar misses with a wild combination.

Tilberg wants to clinch up but Edgar keeps it at a distance.
Matt Tilberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tilberg throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Edgar.

and Edgar counters with a body kick that stops Tilberg in his tracks momentarily.

and Edgar counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Tilberg wants to stand and escape but Edgar is having none of it.
Edgar is standing up over Tilberg. Tilberg looks to escape but Edgar dives into side control.

Edgar tries for a kimura but Tilberg is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tilberg throws a sloppy head kick

and Edgar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tilberg!
Edgar throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Tilberg because Edgar loaded up on that one.

Frank Edgar has got the better of the ground game so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Edgar is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tilberg can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The referee warns Tilberg that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Edgar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Edgar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
