Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eat Fist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fist is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Fist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fist has gone for a leg lock! Monson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fist's guard.
Monson wants to control from the top but Fist keeps moving.
Monson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Monson has hold of Fist's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fist manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Monson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fist can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Monson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Fist is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Fist and Monson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Monson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fist is just riding it out for now. Monson eventually gives up the hold.

Monson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Fist has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Fist!

Jeff Monson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Monson shoots in and bounces Fist off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fist will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fist is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Monson defends well.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Monson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Monson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fist has hold of one of Monson's legs. Monson is fighting the takedown attempt but Fist gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Monson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fist can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Monson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Eat Fist has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fist drops back looking for a leg! Monson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monson manages to kick Fist off! Fist jumps back into Monson's guard.
Monson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Fist postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Monson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fist, into his guard.

I would just about give that final round to Jeff Monson.
I've got Monson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
