PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between charlie brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and barry bonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). bonds has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. barry bonds is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from brown.
brown looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
brown doesn't manage to clinch there - bonds circles away.
bonds dives in and grabs brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. brown pushes down on bonds's head and hops out.
bonds lands a nice leg kick that just misses brown's sensitive parts.
brown is looking to clinch.
brown misses with a few strikes there.
brown misses with the combination.
bonds shoots in and drives through. brown sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

bonds drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
bonds trying to control but brown is working from the bottom.
brown wants to sweep here but bonds controlling him for the moment.
bonds trying to control the position from guard on top but brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

brown keeping full guard, as bonds tries to pass.
brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
brown is trying to control the position but bonds postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
brown keeping moving, preventing bonds from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
bonds misses with a combination
and brown counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
brown throws a right and a left that bonds avoids nicely.
brown looks to land a combination but bonds avoids it well.
brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but bonds moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
bonds shoots for a takedown but brown saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
charlie brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of barry bonds.
brown will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
brown throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and bonds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
brown wants to improve his position but instead bonds has moved into half guard.

bonds wants to lay and pray for a moment but brown keeps working.

bonds is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! brown is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
