PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arnez Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grayson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grayson Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Garcia checks it well.
Garcia tries to clinch up.
Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Garcia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Garcia manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Garcia's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Garcia scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gracie doesn't seem bothered though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Garcia ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garcia no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Garcia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

That's time! Garcia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garcia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gracie is trying to drag Garcia to the mat but Garcia just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Garcia is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.

Gracie in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Gracie wants to control the pace but Garcia is squirming around nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie wants to take his opponent's back but Garcia doesn't allow it.
Garcia gets back to half guard.
Garcia pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Garcia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grayson Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Garcia is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Gracie has hold of Garcia's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Garcia tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gracie cranks the arm and Garcia screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Garcia, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
