Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Millar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Millar lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Smith throws a low kick but it's checked well by Millar.
Millar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Millar misses with a jab, cross combination.

Millar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Smith controls Millar momentarily but Millar frees himself.

Millar stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Smith throws up his legs and catches Millar in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Millar tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Smith! That came out of nowhere!
