Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffrey Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cosme Capetto!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capetto fails in his attempt to clinch.
Capetto misses with a two punch combination.

Jacobs closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jacobs lands in his opponent's guard.
Jacobs slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Capetto wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jacobs manages to pass to side control.
Capetto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jacobs is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Capetto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jacobs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jacobs perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jacobs is working for a kimura but Capetto is defending it quite comfortably.
Capetto is staying active underneath Jacobs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Jacobs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jacobs works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacobs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Capetto, who protects the arm well.
The ground and pound from Jacobs seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Capetto is trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jacobs misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Jacobs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Capetto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacobs passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Capetto!

Jacobs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Capetto that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jacobs is landing with some decent strikes but Capetto is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Jacobs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Capetto is breathing heavily.

Capetto blocking the ground and pound.
Jacobs cracks Capetto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Capetto has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jacobs lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Jacobs scores with punches to the body.
Jacobs really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Capetto.

Jacobs looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Capetto taps!
