The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuuma keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Monson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Monson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fuuma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Monson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fuuma has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fuuma on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fuuma tries to get out of the position.

Monson swings around for an armbar but Fuuma sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Monson's guard.

Fuuma wants to stand and escape but instead Monson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Monson has gone for a leg lock! Fuuma slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monson's guard.

Monson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fuuma can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Yonjiro Fuuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fuuma circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Monson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Fuuma follows Monson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
